Every lesson, always

Designed for adults who want real progress not just lessons.

You want a clear path. Not a playlist of YouTube tutorials, not an app that resets your streak. A structured plan that actually takes you somewhere.

Your time is limited. Every session is planned in advance, every practice minute has a purpose. Nothing is wasted.

You've tried before. Apps, YouTube, casual lessons. None of it stuck. This is a different kind of learning structured, personal, and built around how adults actually learn.

You want to know you're progressing. Clear weekly goals, a running progress log, and a plan that tells you exactly where you are and where you're heading.

Your first 12 weeks with Pianoroom

Every student begins with a personalised 12-week plan built around their level, their goals, and the music they want to play. Below is a typical beginner journey. Yours will look different. That's the point.

Weeks 1–4

  • Understanding the keyboard
  • Reading simple notation
  • Your first short piece
Weeks 5–8

Weeks 9–12

  • Clear plan for what comes next
My promise to you

By the end of 12 weeks, you'll be able to play two complete pieces with both hands, read basic sheet music, maintain steady rhythm and practise confidently on your own.

Inside Pianoroom
Gauri

This is what structure
actually looks like.

Most piano teaching gets it wrong. Lessons become rigid, unstructured, and disconnected from the music that made you want to play in the first place.

Progress is not about covering ground, it is about depth. Two or three pieces played really well is worth more than ten played carelessly. That is the foundation we build.

Every lesson should leave you feeling three things: that you have moved forward, that you are curious, and that you cannot wait to practise.

Weekly learning logs

Every student receives a detailed log after each lesson what we covered, exactly what to practise, listening recommendations, and what comes next. Here are three real examples.

Weekly Learning Log Week of 13th March
Listening / Inspiration

Martha Argerich Ravel, Jeux d'eau. Notice the flowing patterns and sparkling sound how music feels fluid and constantly moving.

Looking ahead

C major scale hands together (3rd step), full playthrough of Happy Birthday, C minor chord.

Weekly Learning Log 26th March
What we worked on
  • Minor scales G#m
  • Clair de lune
  • Bach
Listening

Valley There's Still a Light in the House. Notice how music uses space, softness, and gradual layering to build emotion.

Weekly Learning Log 12th May
What we worked on
  • B minor Harmonic Contrary motion scale
  • Shushiki page 1
Listening

Debussy Rêverie. Notice how the music breathes naturally rather than moving with a strict pulse.

Meet Gauri

Pianoroom was built around a simple belief: the challenge for most adult learners isn't talent it's having the right structure and guidance around them.

After completing her diploma at KM Music Conservatory (A.R. Rahman's conservatory) and earning a BMus from the University of Huddersfield, Gauri has spent years teaching adults from all professional backgrounds to play piano properly, and enjoyably.

Before you book.

Am I too old to start learning piano?
Not at all. The oldest student currently learning with Pianoroom is 75. Adults actually make excellent learners you bring focus, patience, and a genuine reason for wanting to play. The only thing that matters is that you want to start.
What if I've never played piano before?
It doesn't matter where you're starting from. Whether you've never touched a piano, played as a child and stopped, or have some experience and want to take it further lessons are designed to meet you exactly where you are. Gauri will assess your starting point in the trial lesson and build a personalised 12-week plan from there. There's no wrong place to begin.
I have a very busy schedule. Can I still make progress?
Yes and this is one of the most common concerns adults have. The programme is built around your life, not the other way around. Even 20–30 minutes of focused practice a few times a week leads to real, noticeable progress. Many of Pianoroom's students are senior professionals who manage demanding careers alongside their lessons.
What happens in the trial lesson?
It's a relaxed 30-minute video call think of it as a conversation, not an audition. You'll talk about what you'd love to play, try a few simple exercises, and get a genuine sense of whether this feels right for you. Most people leave feeling excited about what's possible.
How much do lessons cost after the trial?
Weekly one-to-one lessons start at $235 per month. That's one structured, personalised lesson per week with everything included your practice plan, progress tracking, and between-lesson feedback.
Do I need a piano at home?
You'll need something to practise on, but it doesn't have to be a full piano. A basic digital keyboard is enough to get started you can find a good beginner option for under $100. If you're unsure what to get, Gauri will help you choose something that suits your space and budget during your trial lesson.
